Sanya missfilled a document. She was always perfect. And never gave him any opportunity to punish her like he desperately wanted. He was almost glad for her slipup. His mind already filled with a dozen dirty ways he wanted to punish her.

Before he noticed the rest. She messed up his coffee order. And she had a ringlet of hair escaping from her ever-professional bun.

“What's wrong with you today, Ms Kapoor?”

She flinched. “I'm sorry sir. I'll get you a fresh brew right away.”

“It's not about a damn coffee!”

“Yes ofcourse. I apologize sir. I've reviewed every document I filled today thrice. I swear there's no filling error in anything. I promise I won't be repeating such blunders.”

“No Ms Kapoor! You! I'm asking about you!”

His babygirl refused to meet his eyes.

“Sanya please… Just tell me. How will I help you if you don't tell me?”

“You can't help me sir. No one can.” She turned away from him. “I'll get you your coffee right away sir.”

A cold shadow seized his heart. Sanya was in trouble. What could have gone wrong? Why was she pulling away from him? Hiding things. Refusing to let him in. Her reverting to thier old dynamic. This pure professionalism. Unpalatable. Unacceptable.

Just when he was sure he was about to crash out. Break something, an unknown girl knocked.

His coffee. She sent it through someone else.

Another terrible thought stuck him. She had seen the darkness within him. And she came to her senses. He loosened his tie with his suddenly sweaty hands. No matter how hard he tried, his lungs won't function properly. She was done with him. She was going to leave him. She really was going to leave him.

Holding his coffee cup gingerly, as if it was a relic of their love he let the warmth seep into his hands. His entire body was cold as ice, his only source of warmth, that cup.

His gaze fell on a sticky note on it's bottom.

“You could help me by making me forget 😉”

Too bad. He had already invaded her privacy. And found out was wrong.
